I really appreciate the way the company invests in its people. I have great colleagues and there are always good opportunities to progress.
Where do you work and what do you do?
I work in Hatfield at The Hub. I came here straight out of school and started in the Correspondence Team, moved to the Contact Centre and then to the Training Team. I’ve been a Team Coach for a while, working to bring in new people and to make the most of our existing team.
It’s a great place to work. I went travelling for a while but when I came back, I returned to Affinity Water because there are so many opportunities to make a good career. There are a lot of people who have been here for 25 years and I can see myself doing that.
What is a typical day like for you?
Busy! I’m working with customers, especially around complaints. I’m helping to resolve any issues for my team and helping to improve our processes. There really are no two days the same. There is such a buzz around the place and my colleagues are great!
What are you most proud about?
I was involved in a big project that affected a lot of customers and the business. I had to learn a new system, translate what I had learnt into a training manual and then train it out to my colleagues. It went very well and I feel I made that happen!
Do you get involved in public-facing events or charities connected to work?
I’m proud to have been helping KitAid for a number of years. It’s a great charity that sends unwanted football kit to disadvantaged people here and abroad.
